Couples Counselling
Couple counselling is an ideal opportunity for your and your partner to begin to look at your relationship within a confidential and therapeutic environment. My approach encourages an in-depth exploration of your relationship, from each person's perspective, and with an emphasis on how the two of you interact with each other.
The aim of the therapy is to initiate insight, awareness and change in order that both partners can begin to exercise more control over what is making them unhappy.
Experience
I have over 23 years experience of working with couples within a variety of settings including Private Practice, NHS and Charity Counselling settings. I have worked with couples with a wide range of presenting issues including divorce, childcare issues, communication problems, infidelity, trust issues, addiction problems, breakdown of relationships, sexuality, and terminal illness. Most recently, at The City and East London Bereavement Service, I have provided relationship counselling to couples who have lost a child.
How I Work
I use a variety of therapeutic approaches; these include psychodynamic, person-centred and existential ways of working. My Integrative approach is based on fifteen years' experience and is focused on exploring the individual's or couple's presenting issues in depth, with the aim of gaining a greater sense of control and insight into the issues and how to affect them.
Where I work
My private practice is located in Borough SE1 which is ideally located for a range of tube and mainline stations with London Bridge station a ten minute walk away.
I also have a practice in Eltham Southeast London SE9 which is convenient for people living within the areas of Blackheath, Greenwich, Kidbrook, New Eltham, Charton and Lewisham
